BIO

David F. Starr is best known for his old master style paintings and drawings with digital color. His work dives into myth, science, cuteness, violence, and relationships. Starr was born in Algoma, Wisconsin, and attended the University of Wisconsin, Stout. A student artist in residence and then emerging artist grant facilitated deeper exploration into religion and science with large figurative and robotic work. Starr’s current multi-year project explores education, scientific discoveries and cuteness. The draftsmanship, luminosity and illusion of textures in the figures makes his work accessible and engaging to viewers of all ages. He lives and works in Southern California.
